Have WiFi but nothing wired is working

This morning I had no internet going to my PC but had WiFi in the house so I tried resetting router, changed Ethernet cables and restarted my PC several times. Still tells me I have Unidentified network in my network settings.

things I’ve tried - Reset button on router, Network Reset in Network settings, new cables from router to PC and turned the router off for an hour or so.

Re: Have WiFi but nothing wired is working

Have we established on here that 'yellow' can mean just about anything!

Can you post your Hub status and logs?
Someone should be spot if there is a problem
Navigate to http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode)
Don't log in!
Click on 'router status'
Copy/paste the data from each of the tabs. The forum software will remove the MAC addresses for you (you may need to click the 'post' button again).

Also, set up a 'Broadband Quality Monitor'. This will monitor the state of your connection and record any network dropouts etc - You can do this at ThinkBroadband (https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality)

Re: Have WiFi but nothing wired is working

When I go to the router I do not see an option for router options just to log in

Re: Have WiFi but nothing wired is working

If its not showing a "router staus" icon at the bottom/middle of the log in poage - it means you have never logged in previously.

If that is the case then log in change the password and save/apply changes and log out. Then the Status icon will automagically appear.

Re: Have WiFi but nothing wired is working

Nothing out of "spec" in the stats - others need to comment on the logs.

Are the issues only evident on wifi connections or do you see them at the same times on devices connected on ethernet cables? If you don't know, can you check to help diagnose whether it is just a wifi issue or it could be network connection related?

What Hub is it and what are the various Hub lights showing/doing when this happens?

Also, in the meantime... If you haven’t already, set up a free and secure “Broadband Quality Monitor” to continually monitor the state of your connection and record any true network dropouts , latency issues, packet drops, etc - it will thus allow you to differentiate between those and simple wifi dropouts. It does it 24/7/365 and it keeps a visual record of any/all of your network disconnections, useful data to have to match to the Network logs (in your Hub settings) and also in discussions with VM - note it will take a few hours to start seeing a sensible picture - post up the “link” to the “share live graph” (as per instructions on the TB website) when it starts to develop.
