Has anyone tried third party cable modems? E.g. CAX80

Hello

I am looking at alternatives to the hub 5, as it sounds like receiving one before my contract ends is unlikely.

Does anyone have any experience with using a third party cable modem?

I am specifically looking at the netgear cax80, which offers gigabit internet, wifi 6, 2.5gb lan and port aggregation

Thanks in advance

Re: Has anyone tried third party cable modems? E.g. CAX80

Don't order the Netgear CAX80 it can only be used in the USA CATV market.

A 3rd party cable modem will not be activated by Virgin Media.

We can use any VM Hub in Modem mode and then attach a 3rd Party Router, this configuration is permitted.

By all means go down the 3rd Party router route, first read up on how to install, configure and support it.
