Free WiFi Booster

Had an engineer round tonight who said we can ring 150 and get a free WiFi booster - eventually spoke to tech and they said not for 6 months - has anyone else heard this? Really unhelpful tech support who put the phone down on me! Virgin Media are shambolic!

Re: Free WiFi Booster

There is a trial where technicians can install a Wi-Fi booster for free at the moment.

You were miss-informed by the technician

Might as well give everyone 1Gb wireless routers.

Re: Free WiFi Booster

My experience of WiFi boosters is that they are useless.

Re: Free WiFi Booster

The virgin ones are actually quite good, as long as you understand that your unlikely to get above 100mb.

Separate 1Gb wireless routers with hub in modem mode everyone got a hub that can be put into modem mode so instead of router mode and a Free WiFi Booster just give everyone a free 1Gb wireless routers and use modem mode.

That better.

Re: Free WiFi Booster

Thanks everyone for the information, I guess I was stupid to think that Virgin would provide anything free! At least some of you guys did what I found impossible, contact them. I tried for several days and went through the multiple menus to the point when the voice said it would  check my system, and after about 30 seconds the phone goes dead. That's a good way of getting rid of the customer isn't it!  I tried to chat facility, and on every occasion there wasn't a member of their team available, I wonder if they even have a team. I hate trying to deal with Virgin, it's always the same, aggravation.
