Five seconds signal every ten minutes all day

Unusable service very intermittent. I have to wait 24 hours for it to be a proper problem. It's frustrating. I've recycled numerous times - no joy... My wifi checker can see neighbours are OK. Argh! Any ideas?

How does a wired connection behave?

It's the same, I don't have access to Netflix or Prime on the TV either.

Re: Five seconds signal every ten minutes all day

And a link to a BQM
________________

If you haven’t already, set up a free and secure “Broadband Quality Monitor” to continually monitor the state of your connection and record any true network dropouts , latency issues, packet drops, etc - it will thus allow you to differentiate between those and simple wifi dropouts. It does it 24/7/365 and it keeps a visual record of any/all of your network disconnections, useful data to have to match to the Network logs (in your Hub settings) and also in discussions with VM - note it will take a few hours to start seeing a sensible picture - post up the “link” to the “share live graph” (as per instructions on the TB website) when it starts to develop.

Re: Five seconds signal every ten minutes all day

I've no WiFi and my laptop has no RJ45 socket. How do I access that?

Re: Five seconds signal every ten minutes all day

Any laptop has a "port" for which an adaptor is readily available to connect a RJ45 ethernet cable.

I have them for USB3, USBc and Thunderbolt for my Macbooks and they all connect fine.

I "think" you can still access the settings without internet connection but will need it to for setting up the BQM.

Use a USB Gigabit Ethernet adapter, VM will request wired speed tests in any event. They are only a few pounds and handy to have around.

Re: Five seconds signal every ten minutes all day

It will be my next investment but that'll be good for the next time. I'll Prime one tonight...
