Fed up with the home hub.

My family and I moved from Sky to Virgin on an 18 month contact after Sky ramped up their prices (as per usual) but to be honest I'm far from happy and currently would have rather taken a hit in my wallet.

For reference we have the same configuration as we used to have with Sky
i.e. Main box next to the tv in the living room and a second box in the bedroom. We haven't put the tv aerial in the upstairs box as we just watch stuff already recorded downstairs and didn't want the ugly cable round half the bedroom, something that sky doesn't need.

- Both Sky and Virgin Boxes are in the same positions / sockets / LAN cables
- Both Sky and Virgin boxes are using the same Power -> Ethernet Adaptors

Problems: -
1) The WiFi is awful, my wife works from home and her laptop constantly loses WiFi connection.
2) The upstairs box randomly loses connection the downstairs box
3) The internet drops off every few days

1  + 2 are probably related

Is the virgin stuff this bad? I know if I put Sky back in then all my issues will go away again.

Looks like you need a better router and just use the hub in modem mode its a winning combination

VM wifi output is indeed notoriously feeble and you are better off using your own premium router as Alessandro recommends. An annoying and expensive fact of life with VM I'm afraid.
