Dropped WiFi speed

Hi there,

‘’new to the forum & have a quick question. I joined VM yesterday with Phone & Broadband package. I’m getting around the 500mps next to my Hub 4 but in my office located about 35-40ft away roughly half that speed & that’s when nothing else is connected wirelessly only my IMac. Isit normal to loose so much speed over that distance.

Re: Dropped WiFi speed

Hi again Gary,

what would you suggest is the best way for me to increase the speed in my office taking out any hard wired solutions? Would for instance purchasing a top class WiFi router & turning my Hub 4 from Virgin on Modem mode only be successful? The new third party WiFi router would still be same 35-40 ft distance from IMac.

thanks

Re: Dropped WiFi speed

Better to get a Wi-Fi 6 tri band mesh system, switch the hub 4 to modem mode.
Plug the Wi-Fi router into the hub 4 then place the 2nd node near your IMac.
