Re: Do we get charged for the WiFi pods

I would think charging for trialling VM equipment would be bad practice.  After all you are doing them a favour by testing on your time for free !

Re: Do we get charged for the WiFi pods

@paragmh   Did you get the WiFi Pod(s) as part of the first trial or did you ask for them after they were announced?

The former - free while you stay with Virgin Media broadband.

The latter - chargeable, unless on the Ultimate Oomph bundle.

Re: Do we get charged for the WiFi pods

AFAIK the pods are chargeable @ £5 per month, unless you are on the 1Gig or Ultimate Oomph packages,

Re: Do we get charged for the WiFi pods

I just sorted a new deal with the virgin media customer service team and they said that they have to charge me for the WiFi pods £5 every month

@Kev_B  @Michael_JK

Can we please have some clarity on the promise that those on the WiFi Pod trial would not have to pay for them while remaining broadband customers?

Re: Do we get charged for the WiFi pods

HI Paragmh,

Looks like VM are pulling a fast one here: in November 2020 I was promised free Boosters for my Hub 4, because its wifi performance is worse than the Hub 3 it replaced. But they never arrived, and today I learned (after a lengthy call to CS) that the free booster deal is not available unless you're on the 1Gb deal (a tiny proportion of all long-suffering customers). Now they are selling you mesh Pods at £5 a month, as if they are something wonderful, but really they are just making up for the poor performance of the Hub 4. Not happy at the degradation of wifi performance designed in. At £60 per year, you will be better off buying your own wifi extenders at £50 to £90 one-off payment.
