Re: Critical Error in Log Hub 3

A few T3 timeouts per week are fairly normal for a cable connection, and on their own they don't indicate a problem.  The post-RS error count on the downstream channels is a bit more of a worry, but the significance depends on when the hub was last restarted, since that clears the error counters.

Are you having specific problems with your connection?

Re: Critical Error in Log Hub 3

Hey

Thanks for your reply,

The box was last reset at midday yesterday as it was in modem mode.

I have taken it out modem mode and using it as router with WiFi turn off as I have velop mesh doing the WiFi.

The speeds are decent but are not consistent from 500 450 to 250 via WiFi but this could be the mesh WiFi.

I will run a LAN to router and do speed check today.

When I check the errors yday at midday they was not in three digits

Re: Critical Error in Log Hub 3

200-400 is the normal range for most dual band mesh systems, and even some tri-band mesh systems still deliver those sorts of speeds.  I'm assuming the Velop is in access point mode (you don't want two routers on the same network).

Normally you shouldn't be seeing more than one or two post-RS errors per week across all channels, and if you are then it suggests a noise problem.  Because post-RS errors are uncorrected, they can hit latency and speeds much harder than the numbers would suggest, whereas pre-RS errors are corrected with minimal or no impact on performance.

Might also be worth setting up a BQM, that'll show if there's anything untoward going on with your VM connection.  Post a link to a live, shared graph here and we'll see what's happening.  Usually needs to run for 24 hours before we can draw reasonable conclusions, but the live graph will continuously update so you can do that immediately.
