Controlling Virgin Tv Remotely

Hi - I have just put my virgin router in my loft and have CAT6 running through the house connected to a switch also in the loft. I have my TV then in the lounge - is there any solutions apart from having a virgin tv box in the lounge or controlling via the virgin app to control virgin tv? As the TV will be sitting on the wall I ideally don’t want a box there and also as I have children using an app all the time is not ideal? Is there anyway it can be controlled via the tv at all and it’s remote - I have a new Sony Bravia? Or is there anything else solutions wise that doesn’t take up space? Thanks

Re: Controlling Virgin Tv Remotely

You could research HDMI over CAT6 extenders with IR relay, not sure what other options there are..

Re: Controlling Virgin Tv Remotely

Thanks.

HDMI over cat6 is fine for getting the signal to the TV.

Will have a look at IR relay options and see what’s out there. Just want something that is  discreet

Re: Controlling Virgin Tv Remotely

the one i linked comes with a pair to relay - they don't look that intrusive.. but that's subjective 😛
