Connection issues

Although my broadband seems to always be active, with top speeds (100mb) the connect has seemed unstable for the past 3 weeks to a month, with online activity feeling sluggish a laggy.

Latency seems fine, and I've started a broadband monitor to see what's what, but I have noticed these issues via the Hub 3. Although I'm not entirely sure what they mean.

I have factory reset the hub, other equipment, used a DMZ, and the other standard stuff. Any pointers on what the issue might be?

Re: Connection issues

post the upstream and downstream data from the same place you got the logs..

also, be useful to see a "share link" of the BQM you set up..

Re: Connection issues

power levels on downstream are all within spec but you have post-rs errors on all of the channels - they're not huge numbers, but they're there - when did you last reboot the hub, and how quickly do they accumulate?

your logs also show quite a lot of channel drops (rcs partial service) which is a concern.

you haven't uploaded the upstream tab yet.. be useful to see it.

I've restarted the hub a few times during this week after each troubleshooting attempt, so they seem to accumulate quickly...

What are post-er errors, and any idea what would possibly cause channel drops?

Re: Connection issues

nothing wrong with the upstream.

everything is within spec, i don't know if the volume of errors you're seeing is problematic. post-rs errors are when a damaged/malformed packet arrives at the hub, if the hub can fix the packet it increments the pre-rs counter, if the hub can't fix it then it becomes a post-rs error.  Generally speaking, the closer to 0 the better.  There are examples of them being in the tens of thousands so, like i said, at the volume you're seeing i am not sure how big of an issue it is..

let's see how the BQM looks tomorrow..

Re: Connection issues

Yeah, like I said speeds seem generally fine on paper. Very frustrating.

Re: Connection issues

I'm having an issue posting my BQM results here, have tried all the available links but none seem to be valid/redirect to an invalid link...
