Connection Dropping...

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and only had Virgin Broadband for a few months now but would appreciate any advice you can offer.

Connection has been great for the 2 months we've had Virgin and no issues. Turned the unit off yesterday whilst some work on our electric meter was carried out, the unit was powered down for an hour at most.

When rebooted there has been intermittent internet connection issues - connects for a while then disconnects and the green WPS light flashes for a while when there is no connection, it connects and the light goes out.

Is this the shape of things to come with Virgin broadband, as a search of the forum seems to indicate this...

Re: Connection Dropping...

What hub do you currently have?

Have you checked all the coax cables are secure?

Re: Connection Dropping...

Sorry, it would have helped if I told you that it is a Hub 3.

Yes, all coax cables are finger tight and have not been removed. Nothing was changed between the Hub powering down and booting up again.

Re: Connection Dropping...

Can anyone help with this, I'm still having issues with the connection dropping out. An engineer was booked to come last Friday but I stupidly cancelled as I thought the issue had magically rectified after a third reset of the hub...

This is what the hub shows, any advice appreciated.

The Upstream Channel Power Levels are too low.

This will need an engineer to put right.

You can either call in (08:00 is the best time) or wait on here for a few days (6 to 7 days average) until one of the VM Forum Staff comes along.

If you wait on here Do Not bump the thread it will put it further down the VM 'to do list'.

Re: Connection Dropping...

Thanks for your reply. I thought this may be the case after searching the posts on here.

I'll try to get an engineer out again...
