Connect 2nd Hub 2 in garden annex

I have been sent a second Hub3 from Virgin Media so I can have in my garden annex to watch tv via TiVo box and extend wifi.

I cannot get it to work as turnip addresses are conflicting.  I have attached the 2nd hub to my laptop and logged in to change the DCHP setting so turnip address do not connect and disabled the setting. For some reason it does not hold the settings (even though it says it has).

Any help would be appreciated, for info:-  I have an Ethernet cable running from hub 3 in main house to the annex, virgin media attached a separate brown box on the side of the annex - the same as you have on your main house.

Thank you.

You’re only allowed one hub per household.

Re: Connect 2nd Hub 2 in garden annex

Just connect a wireless access point on the ethernet cable - new low spec ones are cheap - good spec ones are about £60.

As Gary says you are unlikely to get a second Hub at the same address unless you get a second account at the same address - this will be an expensive way of doing it.

If VM have put another box on the annexe get them to wire in a TV box and add it to your existing account - you cant do the wiring yourself.

I was told by Virgin media you can connect a 2nd hub for an annex and HAS been done before but not done very often. I know what I need to do to change the settings but for some reason cannot log into the hub via Ethernet cable on my laptop and get it to save the DCHP settings to stop the IP address conflicting?

Re: Connect 2nd Hub 2 in garden annex

Because it’s not meant to be used as an extender or AP.
