Can't connect to192.168.01 Has BT Wifi hijacked myVirgin Hub ?

Morning

Really odd problem - I really appreciate  any advice.

The Problem

192.168.01 is coming up unreachable  even when connected to Hitron via ethernet cable.

When I look at network properties it is coming up as with the name of the BT Whole Home Discs - EVEN when they are physically disconnected from the Hitron.

Are the two things related ? If so what I can I do ? if not what I should

The Setup

Virgin Business 4 Port - Hitron CGNV4-FX4 ( wifi switched off)

4 x old school BT Whole Whole Wi-fi  - one plugged straight into Mr Hitron

Steps taken so Far

I've done a factory reset - the result was a for a couple seconds I could access 192.168.01 but then it disappeared

Checked that the network is private rather the public on Network setting - no effect.

Re: Can't connect to192.168.01 Has BT Wifi hijacked myVirgin Hub ?

What device are you using to try to connect to the router?   A laptop or PC?

It seems to me that said device is still thinking it's connected to the BT discs and needs to be refreshed

Assuming it's a Windows machine you're using try renewing your IP address;

https://www.lifewire.com/renewing-ip-addresses-in-microsoft-windows-816528

(there are similar steps for other operating systems)

If your machine still thinks on a different subnet it won't reach the router....

Also, just because you wrote it incorrectly twice, the address is 0.1 not 01, so http://192.168.0.1

🙂
