Cable has been cut

Joining in

Some workmen(VirginMedia?) came to next doors to bury their VM cable. They have managed to cut my cable. I have a technician appointment tomorrow but have no way to tell them it is a cut cable and not an equipment issue. Calling 150 just directs me to the automated appointment. 

A technician will be a waste of time as someone will have to run a new cable to the box in the street.

Any ideas?

Wait and see what they say.  They can and do "patch repair" some external cut cables
