CGNV4-BIZ port forwarding problem

Hi all,

We have a business broadband account with Virgin, with a CGNV4-BIZ router.  I'm trying to forward port 8443 to an internal server with the IP 192.168.0.17.  I logged onto the router, clicked on "Basic" - "Port Forwarding" and forwarded port 8443-8443 from public, 8443-8443 to private, protocol TCP/UDP, internal IP address 192.168.0.17, however when I do an external port check to our public IP with the port number 8443, it shows up as "closed".  I checked the server, and it seem to say port 8443 is open and listening. I can access port 8443 on an internal computer.  How can I make port forwarding work for this please?

Many thanks for your time in advance!

Not an option at the moment, I'm afraid. Is there another way to do this please?
Cheers

Re: CGNV4-BIZ port forwarding problem

If the remote management port is 8443 you could change that.

Thanks for the speedy responses so far!

Sorry, am a bit daft, I can't find where the remote management setting is on the router, however I'm logging on the router via port 80? Thanks again!

Re: CGNV4-BIZ port forwarding problem

Being the CGNV4-BIZ it may not have one? this forum deals with hubs that are not part of a business.

Re: CGNV4-BIZ port forwarding problem

Could you use a different port for incoming? 8443 could be used for remote management, which I'm unsure if you can change.
