Broadband speed

Hi, I have been upgraded from 350 Mbs to 600 Mbs.

On 350 Mbs, I was getting Wi-Fi speed between 320 Mbs amd 380 Mbs.

With 600 Mbs, I now get Wi-Fi speed between 150 Mbs and 260 Mbs.

I have the Hub 3 in Modem/Router mode.

Do I need the Hub 4?

What speed do you get with an ethernet cable?

Re: Broadband speed

You may be given a HUB 4 if your area has been upgraded and the network is congested.
However if GIG 1 is not available in your area chances are you won't get one.
You should not need a HUB 4 although it would be a benefit to ask if your area has them available as they do have a bit of extra power.
Would you be able to go to your hubs status page at 192.168.0.1 and in modem mode 192.168.100.1 (unless it is different) copy and paste the router stats the confidential IP's will be removed automatically when you press post.
You may be required to log in using your password or the default on the bottom of the hub.

Re: Broadband speed

Hi @GL22tivo,

Thanks for your post and sorry to hear that you're getting poorer speeds since your upgrade.

Just to know how we can help further, could you confirm if these speeds were recorded via ethernet connection? Also, are you also experiencing the same speed issues when you take your Hub 3 out of modem mode?

Also, I'd suggest following the advice given by RR-IT-GUY and post your hub stats here so we have a better idea of what's going on and can advise you best.

Keep us posted!

Re: Broadband speed

Thanks, for all the replies - apologies, for not getting back to you, before now - work gets in the way of life.

First request, was to get speeds using direct ethernet cable connections.

I did this 4 times - the first 2 were good, the last 2 were poor:

   672, 651, 270, 251

The second request, was to provide network stats - I'm not sure what/where this is.

This is the screen shot of where I got to.

Which TAB should I use, to provide the requested data?

Thanks, again for all your help/advice.

Re: Broadband speed

Hey @GL22tivo

You can find the stats by following the below instructions.

In your browser’s URL box type in http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode) and hit return. On the first page up [there should be no need to login if you have done so before]

click on the “router status” icon/text at bottom-middle of first page up and then copy/paste 3 FULL sets of data onto here – from the Downstream, Upstream, & Network Logs pages.

Don't worry too much about the formatting it can be easily read & DON’T include personal data or MAC addresses.

Regards
