For some time I've had frequent drops in my broadband connection, thought it may be due to wifi deadspots so invested in Google Mesh Wifi but this hasn't solved the problem, the wifi connection is stable throughout the house and when I do have a connection it is hitting 212mbps in all rooms so the mesh wifi is fine. Today has been abysmal with no internet connection several times. Have noticed that there is a permanent red light on the bottom of the box normally white or amber in modem mode. Have rebooted, pin hole reset but no difference.
Hi, today has been awful, wifi stays connected but the internet connection has dropped out about 7 times, its not just affecting one device, all in the house are experiencing it. Spoke to customer service yesterday who said do a pinhole reset, did that, red light on again, rebooted red light on again, phoned customer service again, please do pinhole reset, did it again, is it connected, yes, OK thanks goodbye. Feels like they dont listen,
My set up is normally hub in modem modem, mesh router connected to the hub via Etherley, 1gb switch connected to the mesh router via Ethernet with smart TV, smart home hub, games console connected to the switch.
Following latest pinhole reset I didnt put back into modem mode so had the hub WiFi and mesh wifi connections both running, a device connected to each and Internet dropped on both (just gone again!!)
HI Bonzadog, I am sorry about this I have done some remote checks and there is a flagged issue with your hub I will pop you a PM and we can run some further diagnostics, keep an eye out for the purple envelope 🙂
Hi Zoie, thanks for arranging the engineers visit, very helpful guy called Dan came, the cables were very old so he renewed some, also power from the cabinet was borderline so he turned that up. Asked me to ring him after a few days to let him know how it is and if still problems he'll come back as he is always in the area.
Have still had some dropped internet connections but less than before we are running the WiFi signal from the Hub 3 alongside the Mesh wifi to compare the two, I bought the Mesh because with the wifi signal from the hub 3 I can only get wifi in the room that the hub is in and there are 3 floors to my house. Looking at logs quite a few DHCP renew messages, DHCP Reconnect Warnings, I dont know if these are normal.
