Hi, It's great that VirginMedia block 135, 137, 138, 138 and 445 for safety (https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-blocked-internet-ports).
However, for many years I've used GRC's ShieldsUP! service (https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2) to check my security, and since VirginMedia blocked these ports, they are no longer reported as Stealth but as Blocked. So before the VirginMedia block, my firewall just discreetly ignored any external attempts to address these ports. Now, VirginMedia reply on my behalf to tell any attacker that connections are not accepted. There's little practical difference, except that by responding, VirginMedia reveals the existence of myself as a client on that IP address.
Would VirginMedia consider a change of policy to stealth block these ports instead of responding that they are closed? I understand from Steve Gibson's site that this is best practice.

“VirginMedia reveals the existence of myself as a client on that IP address” I don’t understand how you are identified. Surely all it gives anyone is that the IP address is active, so are millions of others.
