Best way to add more network ports

slicendice73
Tuning in

I have a Hub 3 and I have five network devices I need to plug in, but there are only 4 ports...so I need to expand the number of available ports.

What's the best way to achieve this? I've never had issues with the hub or the WiFi, so I'd hoped to be able to just add my own router. But it seems that in order to do this, I'll need to switch the hub into modem mode, which will deactivate WiFi...is that correct?

And if so, presumably the only way to get it back would be to connect a WiFi router? Which would significantly increase the cost.

I'm assuming it's not possible to leave the hub in router mode and just plug another router into it?

Just buy an unmanaged 4 or 8 port gigabit switch and plug it into the Hub. They are not too expensive.

See my sig for an example of an unmanaged 8-port gigabit switch.
