Best Router Under £100?

Hi,

For the past 18 months I have been using the Virgin Hub 3 but despite the fact I live in a fairly small 2 bedroom house the wireless signal struggles to reach the end bedroom and bathroom.

I know I have the option of using a device such as a powerline adapter however I was wondering whether any router under £100 would improve the signal over the Virgin Hub 3?

Re: Best Router Under £100?

could try splitting up the wifi guide -> http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/Connecting-WiFi-adaptor-for-air-con/td-p/362...

could also try:

https://help.virginmedia.com/system/templates/selfservice/vm/help/customer/locale/en-GB/portal/20030...

Visit http://192.168.0.1/ and login with your password (located on the bottom of your hub).
In the menu on the left, navigate to Advanced Settings > Wireless > Wireless Signal.
At the bottom of the page you will find the “Smart WiFi” section. Here tick the box labelled “Disable Channel Optimization” and apply the changes.

you could attach a WAP (Wireless Access Point) such as a https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ubiquiti-Networks-UAP-AC-LITE-Access-Point/dp/B016K4GQVG/ref=sr_1_1?fst=as%... onto the hub, this will massively increase range best having it wired into the hub, and possible to avoid signal conflicts turn the wifi off on the hub.

if wanted to go down the router route would suggest e.g. an Asus Rt68ac this might be over kill and £20 over budget but worth it https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-RT-AC68U-Dual-Band-Wireless-802-11AC/dp/B00FB45SI4/ref=asc_df_B00FB45S...

As a Very Insightful Person, I'm here to share my knowledge. I don't work for Virgin Media.

A bit over budget and perhaps overkill - but a happy customer....
