Hi folks, I’ve just been given a BT internet radio and I’ve tried to connect it to my Wi-Fi. Although the radio can see my router it just says “service not supported” Is there anything I can do about this or is the radio too old to be of any use. Thanks in advance for any advice, regards Carl

What Hub model do you have and what is its "security protocol" set to in its settings - It may be confusing an older radio?
Also, does the radio operate on the 2.4 or 5 GHz frequency band - or can it connect on either ?

Thanks for your reply, VM have now told me that the BT radio is a lower network capacity and will not work with VM higher network capacity. I’ll junk the BT radio and try a smart speaker. Technology moves quickly these days, I’ve recently lost my preferred dab radio stations because they’ve changed transmitters, now neither of my two dab radios pickup the new signal ;o(

You might find if you add a cheap and cheerful b/g/n protocol based wifi extender to your Hub, the radio might work. Something like this Buy TP Link 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender | Wi-Fi boosters | Argos
Not too sure what VM are on about with "network capacity" .....

Thanks for the advice but I’ve given up on the BT radio, I’m going to try a Google mini nest, they’re only £22 atm.
As to VM’s response to my problem, this is what they said via WhatsApp help,
“BT internet radio, is a lower network capacity and our broadband is higher network capacity that's why it will not connect to our network.”

Are you able to give us a model number for the radio - I certainly wouldn't junk it just yet
