Activating my Microsoft 350 - internet related?

I am trying to activate my Microsoft 350 but each time it can't connect to the server after a factory restore on my computer as you'll see from the attached screenshot.. Microsoft suggested it might be to do with my Internet connection, and I should re-boot my router, but I have the same problem even after rebooting my router.

Re: Activating my Microsoft 350 - internet related?

Hello thomas30

Sorry to hear of the problems activating your Microsoft 350, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums.

Microsoft have advised to reboot your router, are you experiencing any issues with your connection for any other services or in general? We've had a look and can't see anything that would indicate an issue with the connection or equipment.

Do you run any VPN's or a Anti Virus that may be blocking the access?

Rob

If Windows defender is running then you should be OK to drop those in order to activate! (I had no Idea Norton was still going!!!!)

I only use Windows for work now - Migrated to Linux and have never looked back!

Re: Activating my Microsoft 350 - internet related?

It is worth noting that Microsoft have blocked windows 7PC's from using some of their services, they have also sent forceful reminders to upgrade to windows 10 as windows 7 has been obsolete for over a year and a half now.
I suggest you try upgrading to windows 10, the free upgrade tool Windows image creation tool here, please ensure to backup on external media first.

The windows 7 licences are automatically activated as windows 10 when a upgrade this pc now option is chosen.

I can also see from the screenshot that your computer is not connected to any network currently which means there is no internet access at all on the device.

This being indicated from the network icons.

Have you tried opening google chrome or microsoft edge to confirm there is access?
