2.4Ghz band not connecting to any devices/Hub password not working

hi

for the past few days the 2.4Ghz band has been intermittent and now doesnt connect to anything at all. my 5Ghz band is fine. my ring doorbell and the kids phones and PC only use the 2.4ghz band

ive had a look at my network log for the router, result posted below, but i cannot get into the router settings as the password on the hub3 doesnt work!

I have tried turning the hub on and off and done the factory reset, pin in hole, to no avail on either problems!

id appreciate any help in this as the kids are home from school and all the school work is sent online.

thanks in advance and please stay safe

Re: 2.4Ghz band not connecting to any devices/Hub password not working

You need to get into the Hub settings to get things sorted.Try a factory reset.

Persevere with this, it took me 3 or 5 attempts a couple of months ago.

Instructions for Hub 3

With the Hub Powered on use a paperclip or similar and do a pinhole reset.

Depress the pinhole switch for a timed 60 seconds then release.

DO NOT reboot the hub but allow it 5 to 10 minutes for it to boot itself up.

Once a steady white and no other lights are illuminated check your system again.

Re: 2.4Ghz band not connecting to any devices/Hub password not working

Hi,

thanks for quick reply, it looks like I was following the wrong instruction on how to factory reset my hub, Originally I was switching hub off after I did the pin hole reset for 60s

it seems to have worked. The kids phones are now connected. I did re-name my bands a while ago and that’s gone back to default, if I remember rightly I had to rename them for the ring doorbell to connect, as it doesn’t look like that has connected! I’ll have a play when the kids have gone to bed! 😁👍

thank u so much 😎👍

Re: 2.4Ghz band not connecting to any devices/Hub password not working

Go for the full whack ...

You may be as well refining your Wi-Fi management, it might not fix your problem but will certainly help keeping track of your Wi-Fi frequencies.

Instructions for Hub 3

Log in to the Hub.

Advanced Settings > Wireless Signal > click ‘Disable Channel Optimization’ > Click ‘Apply Changes’.

Advanced Settings > Wireless > Security > Add 2 to the 2.4GHz Channel name > Add 5 to the 5 GHz Channel name > Click ‘Apply Changes’

You can leave the passwords the same as they are.

Log out of the Hub.

You will need to reconnect all you Wi-Fi devices some will want to connect to 5Ghz and some to 2.4GHz and some will connect to either.

2.4GHz is a stronger signal but slower than 5GHz so if you have problems on 5GHz change to 2.4GHz.
