Unable to login or find username/change password

Unable to login.

Forgot username gives:

username.png

So I click through to change username and after entering account number, etc end up here:

error.png

I've been trying for a couple of weeks now, and always the same result.

Help!!

Second attempt to upload picture of a message that says 'Sorry! We are not able to set up your my Virgin Media account at the moment.....'unable.png

I'm still unable to log in. I've tried different machines/browsers and get the same result each time.

This is now more than a minor irritation. I'm attempting to set up my secondary TiVo box and am getting error code 7400.

I need to use the online service status tool to 'run a test against' the box, but can't log in

Not impressed with Virgin thus far

Hi SC1969,

Error code 7400 means the box hasn't been activated yet.

Instead of going via the online status tool (which is offline at present) you need to call 0800 953 9500 to activate the box. You will need the box serial number, and your account number and area code.

You could also try contacting  New accounts and Set Up for them to complete the setup and activation. That would be options 1,1,1 and 4 if dialling 150 from a Virgin landline , or options 1,1,2 and 4  if dialling 0345 4541111 from any other phone

Thanks for the info - I'd worked it out myself already by searching the forums.

Waited over an hour on hold and - you couldn't make it up -  my phone battery died as the CS rep picked up my call and asked for the 11th character of a password I've not set because I can't set up my online account. Apparently the online account issue is now solved, but I can't be certain as the whole site is down today.

As VM haven't activated my box why have they activated my direct debit? I've paid for a months-worth of something I can't use.

They're not winning me over.
