Change of account e-mail address

I am unable to register for My Virgin Media account and so do not have full control of my account and settings - this is due to previously having an account with Virgin using the same e-mail addres my new broadband account was set up with.

A technician has been trying to connect the old account to the new so that I can register but has not been able to and has informed IT and asked that I allow 7 days whereby they may call from an unknown number - I am on nightshifts and so likely can't answer phone calls.

Can the e-mail address my new account uses be changed so that I can get on and register without waiting for this potential IT team fix? The longer this issue takes to resolve the more likely I'll be outside of the 14 day cancellation period, I don't intend to keep the services if I don't have full access.
