I've just opened a new Broadband account but I can't register on My Virgin Media as my email address is associated to an old account I closed some time ago. How do I get around this please?
I get this message on android app and on desktop

I am sorry for the issue with your login details.
Have you used the same email from your previous account? Also If your new account is not yet live, this can also cause registering issues.

Yes I had an account which I closed in 2018 using this email address. I don't have an alternative one I can use.
My new account is due to start tomorrow, if it's not going to be possible to use this I'm going to have to cancel it

You should be able to make the online account once you are live with us, as it should cancel out the old account you had with us previously, if it does not then we can help further from there. As it would need a IT Ticket.
