Cannot setup new account - passwords being rejected

I signed up to Virgin broadband today and received an email recommending that I set up an account via the app.  I’ve tried to do this multiple times but my password just gets rejected. It then says that it’s sent me a verification email that I never receive (it’s not in my junk box either) - if I request it to resend an error message comes up (Code: DEF01). Can someone please help.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having an issue with setting up your My Virgin Media account. 

We can certainly check this out for you but in order to do that I will need to confirm some information with you.
