Spoof Email?

Hi,

I received the following mail this morning.

Your request to leave Virgin Mobile has gone through.

Hello XXXXXXXX,

We've got your request to cancel your Virgin Mobile contract. Everything's sorted.

We'll cancel your contract on 07/10/2020 - 03/12/2020 as requested. Until then, we'll bill you as normal and you'll have Unlimited Minutes, Unlimited Texts, 40 GB Data to use a month as usual.

Any usage outside of your allowance will be charged at standard network rates.

Kind regards,
The Virgin Media team

I have not requested my account to be closed. Is this a spoof mail? I haven't clicked on the links in the mail.

The senders address is mail@virginmedia.co.uk

Cheers

Paul

Re: Spoof Email?

Good morning @VC10

Are you able to confirm for us, have you requested any upgrades or PAC code?

Kind regards,

Zak_M

Re: Spoof Email?

Definitely no PAC code.

My mobile package was changed after the result of a cold call in September to a 40GB SIM & a Samsung phone but I have had no contact with VM since.

Cheers

Paul

Re: Spoof Email?

Thank you for coming back to me @VC10

I have just taken a look into this, I have been able to confirm that you contract with us has not ended.

When you sighed up with us, the mobile sim get an automated number, when you ported your number to us the old number get cancelled, the email is automatically generated.

Its nothing to worry about,

Kind regards,

Zak_M

Re: Spoof Email?

Thanks for looking into this for me. What I don't understand is I don't have an 'old'  number. I have always been with Virgin Mobile. The number ending in 796 was the first mobile number I ever had and the other numbers were issued by VM at some point. I have never cancelled a phone number/phone account/contract.

Re: Spoof Email?

Thank you for coming back to me,

I see, that is a little strange, the account defiantly isn't being cancelled that's for sure.

Kind regards,
