Outbound email on android blocked on mobile data

After trying for a while I worked out that for some reason emails do not go out from my phone when on 4G - I am on Three. Even setting up the email account would fail with cannot connect to server. But on VM Wifi at home, it worked. For some reason, VM seems to be blocking Three IP addresses. I just proved it by disconnecting wifi and emailing my gmail address - stuck in outbox. Reconnect Wifi and email goes straight out. 

Can someone at VM please fix this as I am sure it is affecting many people.

Yes, fine on VM wifi but not on mobile data with 3.

Just tested again. Create an email on phone on my ntlworld account. Click send and it sits in outbox if I am on mobile data. As soon as I enable wifi and its on VM, it sends the email.

Hi Rehmana,

 

Thank you for reaching back out to us, as your emails are working fine when you are not on your Three mobile data it sounds like it is an issue with that rather than your emails, I advise either speaking to Three or having a look on their help forums.

Hi Paul

Update as I tried to send an email again just now and I saw an error V305 pop up about authentication. 

Isn't that a VM error and why would it not work on 3 when it does on WiFi with exact same settings. Literally just the connection type being 4g seems to stop it. As soon as I get on WiFi, email goes instantly. 

Are you saying it's still a 3 issue as it looks like a VM one to me. Let me know.

As it's working on WiFi then it would be a mobile data issue. I'd advise speaking to the provider
