I've received my new SIM, put it into the handset and now have no signal. I'm only able to make emergency calls. I haven't been asked to key in the pin (as instructed on the card that accompanied the sim).y
My old SIM is also not working anymore.

I am really sorry for the delay in replying, we have been busier than usual lately.
Has this issue with your SIM been sorted since your post?
If not then it sounds like you might need your PUK or the SIM needs to be activated.
