Re: New SIM problem

Hi there markcotterell, welcome to our forums.

I'm sorry to hear that there have been issues with this.

Are you able to go through some diagnostics here to see if this helps with the issue?

Thanks

Nathan B

Re: New SIM problem

I received a duplicate of the SIM card.
I've been waiting for the card to run for 4 hours. I checked two Samsung Note 3 and S9 + phones. On/ off, reset...
Network not available.
I use this number also for work.

Can someone turn on the card with the number 07809409618?
You do not have Chat, it's absurd too.

Re: New SIM problem

Hi Krzysztof_N and thanks for your post.

Sorry to hear your new SIM card is not working.

Have you managed to get this resolved? Sometimes there maybe a delay in activating the SIM which i can look at for you.

Pop me a reply to let me know and we can take it from there.

Re: New SIM problem

Received a new sim card last week (apparently I needed one??) but now when I lose network coverage the phone doesn't receive a signal until I reboot it! Never had any issues with previous Virgin sim! This is beyond annoying now and if it doesn't get rectified I will be migrating to another network very soon.

Re: New SIM problem

Hi Zacman1974

Welcome to our community and thanks for posting. Apologies that you're having issues with your new sim. We understand the frustration caused when you juts want to use you phone.

Can we ask if you have tried your sim in another handset? How often are you losing network coverage? You can check here for to see what signal strength is like where you are.  virg.co/coverage

When you do a reboot of your handset how long is it before the problem re-occurs?

Keep us posted.

Kind regards Jodi.

Re: New SIM problem

Hi jodi,

It's not a coverage problem, have a 4g signal at home.  I lose signal when out and about which is to be expected it's just that when I get back to a good coverage area the phone will stay on emergency calls only until I restart my device.  Then it instantly gets a signal. If I don't restart it never re-connects.  Have phoned Virgin this evening and hopefully it's sorted 🤞. Told me to monitor it and if it's no better to get back in touch and they will send a new sim.

Will keep you posted.

Regards Zac
