Changed mobile number

Please can someone help me I requested my mobile number to be changed more than 24hours ago. I had no confirmation of my new number I've restarted my mobile nothing took the simout nothing I can't ring out the line is dead. I got a friend to ring my number and the number you are calling has been changed. How can I get back up and running.. I am a full time career I need my phone please help x
