Cancelled Contract/Account still open

I cancelled my mobile contract within the 14 day cooling off period and returned the mobile phone. The return centre recieved the device last week.  Why is my mobile phone account still active? How long does it normally take to close a cancelled account?

I received the returns packaging and sent the device back.

I then received an email on 05/01/21 from the returns dept confirming receipt of the device.
