re negotiating a new contract

hi i have been calling virgin media to get a new deal for our phone and broadband as we are out of contract. got a price of £50 per month for m350 and talk  anytime phone with extras. went to confirm only to be told this offer has expired and it would now be £65 which is £3 more than what is quoted to renew on our account upgrades. was told that virgin work on different platforms that have different discount rates? as we are out of contract cancellation is in place after 25+years.
