If you pay the debt, then your credit file will be marked as default-settled - you are admitting the debt was valid and that you are late paying it.

If you disagree with the default entry, you need to contact creditfileamendments@virginmedia.co.uk with all details from your credit file and why you believe it to be incorrect.

Hey philipb2210,

Welcome to the community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums.
I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with an old account with us. Was this from a mobile or media account with us?

Kind Regards,

Be aware that paying the sum requested will merely mark the debt as settled, it won't remove the allegedly inaccurate entry from your file.

By paying it, you're agreeing that it's valid and also that it is overdue.

If you believe it's inaccurate, an email to creditfileamendments@virginmedia.com is the next step.

Hi @philipb2210

Welcome back to our community forums and sorry to hear your credit issue is still ongoing.

Just to clarify, was this a cable or mobile account? When did you close the account with us? Also, have you tried the advice given by @japitts ?

Please get back to u when you can.

Thanks,
