new contract after price rise

having completely failed to get an answer to why my bill was going up by 17.3% rather than the quoted 13.8% (guess min price rise is £12) I negiotated new contract with higher speed broadband for 2.25 less than my old one. I have been told by two virgin people that price will not rise for the whole of the 18 month contract. However contract says price may rise during the contract. Can anyone explain this and are the Virgin Media people mistaken (polite way of saying it)

Re: new contract after price rise

Hi @gwilson6838

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

Sorry for the confusion with this - prices can raise in the contract term providing we give sufficient notice as per our terms and conditions - https://virg.in/legals

Best wishes,

Re: new contract after price rise

Put in an SAR demanding the relevant call recordings and transcripts and if they back you up then hold VM to what you were told under s50 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
