business broadband advice

Currently I have Virgin Media cable modem, cable TV and telephone. I'm soon to be moving house, and that's causing me to take stock and (re)assess my my needs.

To be frank, I haven't watched "normal" television in nearly two years, so I've no need to continue with the cable TV. And for my work use, occasionally it would be useful to have a static IP address. With the additional service and tech support commitments it comes with, the business broadband services seem like a good fit.

(Initial?) Questions:

Am I missing something in my assessment/understanding of the services?

Is there a "procedure" for switching from a domestic to a business "account"?

Thanks!

Re: business broadband advice

Hello

Many thanks for your post and welcome to the community.

Business accounts are handier in many ways if you're not fussed about the TV. With a business account you would get a much quicker SLA, meaning if there were any issues then we can get out to you a lot quicker.

I will send a private message to discuss options if you are interested.

Please keep an eye on the purple envelope for my private message.

Thanks

Christy

Re: business broadband advice

Yes, thanks, everything is in hand, and Christy_D has been very helpful.

I'm slightly ashamed to admit that the delay is now at my end - anything to do with house renovations just never seems to go according to plan!

Re: business broadband advice

Sorry for hijacking your thread.

I am also looking to switch to business broadband. Are there any disadvantages in terms of upload speeds? I believe there is a £50 connection fee, is it still applicable for existing home users switching to business broadband?

thanks

Re: business broadband advice

Hi @Rubensolo

I have replied to your private message with all the questions you asked.

Best thing to do in regards to anything billing related is to speak to one of our Business Care experts.

Thanks

Christy
