Why close a complaint if you don’t actually check it’s resolved

Can I ask why virgin media customer relations and complaints team think it’s acceptable to just close a complaint down, without even calling to discuss it with me.  
The actual reason I took the time to raise a complaint is to get feedback on it, and to talk it through with somebody.  
is this a further highlight of why your service support is considered one of the worst in the industry.
