What is the best way of downgrading?

My contract ends on 3rd August. 

I got a SMS from VM Service team yesterday, but also have got a bill increase from a couple of days ago, which is amazing as the bill date is in June and I am getting charged to 10th August. 

I would like to downgrade services, so slowest broadband, basic TV (as many of the HD channels don't work properly) and basic phone (as phone line is still crackling and unusable after umpteen engineer visits) .I don't really need the hassle of changing providers right now. and alas I can't downgrade online.

What is the best way of downgrading at the moment?

I thought calling in was only for those with urgent needs.  Well I suppose not paying for poor quality on HD channels is urgent.

well if you want to downgrade you decide how urgent that is. call in or wait.

Calling is pretty difficult when the line is so crackly, it disconnects the call.

 about my fault,  ran test online...

Far less painful than anticpated.  Was on hold for around 20 minutes, but all dealt with in about 5 minutes.  On the upside, 18 months before I do that again.
