i went away for Easter and on my return there was a small grey box fitted by Virgin in the middle of my driveway wall. The workers were in fact not finished but despite my protests carried on with putting it in the middle. I don’t believe anyone has been linked to the box as yet. It is the only box in the street situated in the middle of a house’s wall.
I was in the process of getting my wall demolished and the kerb lowered outside my house (I’ve counted and 81 of 91 houses in the street have had this done). How do I get this moved please and quickly to stop any connections to the box being made.
VM does not usually require planning permission for installing street cabinets as they come under permitted development. It would be wrong to make it a requirement to always seek planning permission as it would make the deployment of fast broadband networks much slower and more expensive.
Virgin rep came out to have a look. He Stated it was nothing to do with the council, Virgin can put the boxes where they like. In a road where 90% of houses have a paved driveway as a front garden they decided to put one in the middle of my front garden wall.
And when I asked why Virgin had put it there he shrugged, said because they did and further stated and you can’t have it moved. And then he left. What a lovely representative of Virgin he was.
Does anyone know a department at Virgin I can contact who will try to be helpful in some way?
