My account is 10 years old. The contact email is the long defunct Freeserve. I have no idea what my PIN is. I need tech support but they can't help without a PIN number. Any ideas?

Can I ask what you're trying to do when it asks your this pin? Are you trying to see your E billing?
I apparently now need the mysterious E billing number to get access to my account and thus get online access to tech support and other features - e.g. service status.
Thank you for replying, however, one of your colleagues Emma C is already on the case, the tech issue has been fixed, and Emma will be getting back to me soon with the last bit of the puzzle.
