Unlink Netflix from My Virgin Media account

I am having the exact same issue that I’ve been trying to resolve with virgin media for nearly two months.

I’ve spent countless hours on the phone to both VM and Netflix trying to sort this. All I’m asking for is for the account currently being billed through my Netflix (my ex partner’s) to be changed to a new one in my name. This is apparently impossible and I either have to contact my ex to get him to delete his account entirely, or I was offered the opportunity to cancel my entire VM package today and restart with a new one for an extra £50 a month!!! 

Why is a simple administrative task (changing billing method) that can be done in minutes when you have an account paying Netflix directly impossible for virgin media? Its an utter disgrace
