Trying to cancel contract

I am trying to cancel my contract, I understand phones have an hour wait which I am happy to wait for, but after 40mins on hold the call gets cut off. 
I am trying to get help through virginmedia.com but it keeps defaulting to only being able to phone. How do I cancel my current package before my joining offer of £35 suddenly increases to £60, many thanks
