Transfer account from husband or get a new one?

Hi,

My husband and I have split up and he has left the property. The virgin media package is in his name, he does not want to take it with him, and he is not in a fixed contract period.

Am I able to set up a new account in my own name, as there are discounts available or do I have to get him to transfer it into my name. I cannot afford the package he had on my own so would have to lower it or try to get a discount.

He would speak to them to cancel it / transfer it but I need the internet to continue uninterrupted with the current homeschooling situation. I'm unsure if they'd give me a new customer discount as we have the same surname.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi yes you can set up in your own name your husband will have to cancel the old contract.

And you are right there are benefits coming as new customer, by all means pm your number name and postcode and ill get one of the sales team to call you.
