Promised Bill Reduction

I recently upgraded my package to include Sky Sports HD with a new monthly price of £72.50. I contacted Virgin Media via an online chat to query the cost of Sky Sports HD as it differed from the price quoted in the emails that I had received advertising Sky Sports addition. The outcome was that I was promised a £2.50 monthly reduction. However I have not received any notification of this reduction via email, or change to my monthly payment. Can you please tell me why this is ?
