Problem registering with my Virgin Media

Hi, I t signed up with Virgin for Broadband, TV phone etc a week ago. All being connected when we move into our new house on 22nd June. I have had several emails telling me to sign up to My Virgin Media. I have tried to register several times over the last few weeks and every time (before I even get to a page to enter any details) I get a message telling me that Virgin are doing some essential work on their systems:

"We're doing some essential work on our systems.

We're doing some work on My Virgin Media at the moment as part of an upgrade to provide you with an even better service.

We're sorry this part of the site isn’t available at the moment. Everything will be back to normal again soon, so please come back and try again shortly."

This would be fine and understandable, but has been the case for nearly a week now so there must be some bigger problem? Am I missing something?
