Offer made via live chat not replicable later in the day

I contacted VM via live chat earlier today to talk about my contract which is ending next month.

I was made an offer of M350 + Mega TV + landline for £52 a month. I asked what kind of price I would get going broadband only and was told I'd need to be transferred to retentions for an answer to that.

I was transferred while making a coffee downstairs and by the time I came back upstairs the rep had asked 'if I was there' and then cut the chat as I hadn't replied fast enough.

I reconnected with live chat later this afternoon only to be hold that the offer I was given does not exist and a much higher price, even after sending screenshots of the above offer. A subsequent conversion over the phone basically said the same thing.

When I asked to be passed to someone higher up on the phone, or alternatively the complaints department, the advisor got quite argumentative.

Anyone know what is going on with this or who I can speak to in order to get the deal I was originally offered?
