No service for potentially a week

I’m pulling my hair out here. Our broadband and tv supposedly has intermittent service but we have had none at all since Wednesday. First of all we were told it would be fixed yesterday, now it’s moved to Wednesday. But no one is able to tell us exactly what is wrong and how we are supposed to get online in the meantime. I need an internet connection to work from home next week and have an iMac so can’t exactly move to a coffee shop with free WiFi. The app shows that we have no faults but when you call up it says there is. Nothing seems to be synced up. 

How can we at least find out what the problem is?
