No confirmation of cancellation?

I cancelled my broadband account by phone on 27th December (one month's notice required).

I have still not had any confirmation, by email or letter, of the cancellation, nor is there any reference to it in my account details on the website. 

Should I worry about this?

I have just tried to call to check, but after 40 mins on hold the call was terminated by Virgin without answering. There seems to be no other way to contact them (the "message us" button the help page has been removed).

Did you record the call?
It's a wise thing to do in the current climate.

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community.

 

We wouldn't normally send out confirmation an account is cancelled, if it was advised verbally that the account is closed then it would be. You shouldn't have anything to worry about if that was indeed the case.

I am sorry to hear that you are leaving us.

 

We wouldn’t usually send written confirmation of the disconnection. When the service disconnects you will be sent a Final Bill stating the amount to clear the balance.
