New VM account shows old account

I separated from my partner and moved into a new property where I set up my own VM account. However my email address still appears to be associated with the previous account (although this is in my ex-partner's name) and whenever I try to log in to view my account it shows info about the previous account. I tried creating a new email address in order to be able to register a new VM login but even when I use this new address and put in my new VM account number, it defaults back to my old email address and the old account details. What can I do to ensure that I am not associated with the previous account and can access my new account details??
